Comme son titre l'indique, ce téléfilm raconte comment Lupin et ses acolytes se sont rencontrés.
Lupin est un jeune cambrioleur qui vit à New-York. Un jour, il apprend l'existence d'un trésor assez spécial : le "Cram Of Hermes", un rouleau fabriqué dans un métal incassable qui contient lui-même le secret très convoité pour créer ce même métal. Mais pour Lupin, tout se complique lorsque la mafia fait son apparition et convoite elle aussi le trésor...
